Tribal marks are small cut marks made on the face practiced by parts of the Yoruba, Hausa-Fulani, and Benin tribes in Nigeria.
In the olden days, it was a practice that was symbolic. These marks have different meanings even as they are uniquely designed.
There is a social stigma that those who have marks sometimes suffer. Tribal marks are mostly given to people at a very young age, especially when they are babies. This is because the child has no say in giving him/her tribal marks.
